Wow! It is only now that I find out that the director Sean Astin is the actor from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I never take much notice of the directors and wouldn't have realised his name before.

"Somnambulist" | View Comments2 | nathan.taurusJan 25, 2013
Penn wears a Claddagh ring with the heart pointing away so that he belongs to nobody. Angel, of course, gave Buffy a Claddagh ring in 'Surprise'.

"Underneath" | View Comments3 | nathan.taurusJan 21, 2013
I think Gunn went with them to save Lindsey in equal parts to pay for what he did to Fred and also forget what he did. He knew before leaving that someone had to stay behind and most probably knew that it would mean forgetting his past.

Illyria: "With an unstable human who drinks too much whiskey and called me a smurf." And then Wesley actually chuckles! He smiles for a moment.

I am sick of Angel and Spike's jackets getting stabbed and shot and yet remaining perfect. They are not magical coats.

"Damage" | View Comments4 | nathan.taurusJan 20, 2013
By saying nobody trusts Angel it means that the audience won't expect a guest star. It is sloppy writing and creates more questions but it was probably seen as the easiest way around it.

Good:

-Dana doing the old slayer thing of marking her face.

-Spike wanting to know what it felt like to bounce off the pavement.

-Showing that the spell in 'Chosen' wasn't all hugs and puppies.

-Andrew taking Dana away was still a great scene.

Bad:

-Andrew gives too much information about Buffy and the Scoobies' location. If they didn't trust Angel they wouldn't tell him anything.

"Smile Time" | View Comments5 | nathan.taurusJan 20, 2013
This episode teaches children to follow instructions and don't break and enter. Angel ignores the sign 'DON'T' and ends up being punished by being turned into a puppet. See kids, reading signs can save you from felt hell.

"I'm gonna tear you a new puppet hole, bitch!" Hilarious.

Self esteem is for everybody. Self esteem is for everyone. You can dream and be anybody but, self esteem is how you get it done.

"Harm's Way" | View Comments6 | nathan.taurusJan 19, 2013
Got to agree on the closet scenes being a favourite.

The vampire bite orientation is funny but doesn't work all the time. Spike is mostly a left biter and Angelus is mostly a right biter but sometimes they will go the other side.

It was kind of karma how the other employees would avoid Harmony and not really listen to her just like she did to others in high school. And Harmony isn't the annoying one in this episode. The honour goes to the demon clans with their screeching and clicking.

"Destiny" | View Comments7 | nathan.taurusJan 19, 2013
I got to say I was really cheering for Gunn while he was choking Eve. I'm surprised she wasn't saying "That's a good choking. Who's a big boy then? You're a big boy. Yes you are." Her baby talk is really annoying, but then again so is she so it kind of works. She really makes me miss Lilah. Her last name is probably Adams just to have more irony.

I like how Spike wanted it more and really blames Angel for his past. The fight scenes were great and all the interactions between Angel and Spike made the episode for me. The rest of the episode was pretty basic.

Mountain Dew is a cup of perpetual torment. I quite like it. If it was diet something or Dr Pepper I'd agree.

"Lineage" | View Comments8 | nathan.taurusJan 19, 2013
I wondered about the memory wipe with the first scene. The guy says he used to make collapsible swords for Wesley which we saw in season 4 when he was working with a new group. He only left the Hyperion and the gang to fight with others because of the Connor incident so I wonder what the reason is he thinks he left them to go his own way. He is probably racking his brain trying to figure out why he left Angel to be a loner. Maybe he thinks he did it because of Lilah.

Anyway, I still find it creepy that Wesley believes that his own father would murder him in cold blood. I love how there is no pause between the bot threatening Fred and Wesley unloading the clip on him. This is one of only a few instances in the Buffyverse that a gun is useful.

"Habeas Corpses" | View Comments9 | nathan.taurusJan 10, 2013
SueB: The look Cordy gives at the start also confused me more. It's like Jasmine took over her body to do the deed and then let Cordy take over in the morning. Or Cordy is in control until a later episode. Or Jasmine is in control the entire time from 'Spin the Bottle'. I am really, really confused.

I still hate Angel in this episode. He didn't get the girl he (plot device) 'loved' so he acts like a spoiled child. Really bad characterisation.

"Apocalypse, Nowish" | View Comments10 | nathan.taurusJan 10, 2013
Another Good point to add: Connor has the tear come down his cheek as Cordelia says she wants to give him something real.

"Spin The Bottle" | View Comments11 | nathan.taurusJan 10, 2013
Fray: Liam refers to cars as demons the same way that 18th century Buffy did in 'Halloween'. Liam is also from the 18th century so makes the same conclusion.

The Good:

-The commentary for the episode with Joss and Alexis.

-Cordelia thinking the government gave her bad hair. She did it to herself.

-Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. From the "karate" to his ability to remove his chin to his interactions with Winifred to his prat falls.

-Cordelia noticing she has filled out even more and Fred realising she "ain't gonna."

-Noticing how Alexis and David try not to look at each other so they don't start laughing.

-Liam wondering what good an in human scream is gonna do to save Cordelia.

The Bad:

-Making Winifred a stoner. I don't buy it at all. I think it was done to add laughs and change her character but it came out forced to me.

"Tomorrow" | View Comments12 | nathan.taurusJan 6, 2013
#15 - I loved the Wesley line to Lilah. She is evil after all.

The Good:

-Fred being a vampire. Had not seen it for 18 months but it still makes me smile.

-Groo leaving. He didn't add anything to the season.

-The final moment of Angel's box sinking into the darkness.

The Bad:

-Cordelia should have got visions of Angels fight before leaving her apartment.

-Cordelia having more than just visions. C'mon, a bit much with the goddess complex.

-Angel and Cordelia loving each other as more than friends. Not everyone has to have feelings for someone they work with. Never bought it and never will.

-Cordelia's ascension. I don't have the words.

-Image what happened when Skip un-freezed time again on the freeway and everyone smashed into Cordy's motionless car. I think it is explained next season but it could have been a massive accident.... just like this episode.

"Carpe Noctem" | View Comments13 | nathan.taurusJan 4, 2013
I think we should have seen the ending with Marcus' heart attack. He was told before (as Angel) that he might not survive another one and the guy was clearly evil as he had killed a few men by taking their bodies so I wish we got closure on whether he got what he deserved or not.

David looks like he had some real fun with this episode.

Marcus: "Romance with Fred? So I'm a........ obviously." Hilarious!

"Billy" | View Comments14 | nathan.taurusJan 4, 2013
This episode is a similar theme to 'She', although, this episode is handled much better. It can be seen as a little sexist to men even though violent men are usually violent to anyone not just women. Had Lindsey been attacked Angel would have mocked him and told him he doesn't feel bad for him, which is exactly what he should have done to Lilah. Unfortunately, had he mocked Lilah he would have been seen as the bad guy by people uninformed about Lilah.

"Oh, are we standing up now? Is that what we're doing?" This line from Wes to Fred makes me laugh as much as the "we are beltless" line from 'Storyteller'.

Cordelia's stand-off with Billy was a highlight as was Wesley and Fred in the last scene.

"Life of the Party" | View Comments15 | nathan.taurusJun 28, 2012
Brachen Man: "You walk alone!" Sort of. I found the Wesley and Fred stuff to be quite funny and thought it was rather cute when Fred said the previously mentioned line. The elevator moment was hilarious as was Spike's joy over Gunn pissing in the big mans chair.

The downside was the Lorne stuff and Eve and why is everything in a tube. C'mon, sleep should be kept in something more along the lines of the Orb of Thesulah or something more mystical.

I rate it around a 70.

"Conviction" | View Comments16 | nathan.taurusJun 28, 2012
I can really feel your love for the episode.

I didn't mind it at all and found it to be a decent season opener. After reading your review Corben does strike me as a crappy monster-of-the-week type villain on reflection.

The Special Ops team was a good addition and could have been used well throughout some parts of the season but, they don't get much of a fleshing-out for it here. I do love the scene with Hauser talking about conviction and how it can make people do evil things if they believe it enough.

This has been seen throughout history with people believing what they are doing is just and right and they cannot be reasoned with. Of course, this is when Angel does the unforeseen Angelus move by tripping Hauser to allow him to shoot himself. This is a huge moment in the series as it is Angel who does this. I'd rate it around 80.

"Why We Fight" | View Comments17 | nathan.taurusNov 10, 2011
Season Five was supposed to be mostly stand-alone episodes so the casual viewer could watch an episode without needing backstory.

The Good:
-Mention of the pre-Initiative setup.
-Free virgin blood party. It sounds legitimate.
-Spike onboard. There just for comedic effect.
-Lawson as a vampire.
-Angel making Spike scram for shore.
The Bad:
-Far too many TV, video game and movie plots regarding nazis.
-The two vampires are useless. The Prince of Lies is kind of based on Nosterafu.

Lawson: "Funny what goes through a man's mind when his life's hanging in the balance. Boys talked about that a lot back on the boat. Always figured it'd be the special moments you freeze in time. Your mom singing you to sleep at night. Sneaking into the movies with your best friend. The way your girl's hair shimmers in the sun. But the truth is...the only thing that really goes through your head is..'wow, this really sucks'. And then you're gone."

Spike: "Bloody brilliant. Turn the poor sod to save the ship then make him dash for dry land before Mr. Sunshine scorches him a new one...you're still a dick."
Angel: "Yeah, I am."
Spike: "...Bollocks."

Good review Brachen Man.

"Apocalypse, Nowish" | View Comments18 | nathan.taurusOct 26, 2011
Ah, the Cordelia/Jasmine and Connor relationship. Weird.

The Good:
-The Beast. The rocky physique and accent make The Beast a very good villain.
-Wesley and Lilah.
-The final fight. Angel getting stabbed in the neck and actually showing look-alike blood. This was brutal and luckily got past the sensors.
-Wesley doing the slo-mo gunfire that will become a fairly regular occurrence with him.
-The single tear running down Connor's cheek as Cordelia tells him he deserves something real.

The Bad:
-Wesley slo-mo gunfire. Sometimes it is used too much.
-I will never believe that Angel loved Cordelia. It just doesn't make much sense to me following his reactions to her in "BtVS". Best friends, sure. Lovers, hell no.

Good review, Alexandra.

"Shiny Happy People" | View Comments19 | nathan.taurusOct 15, 2011
Useless tid-bit: The actor playing John is Sam Witwer who would go on to be in other fantasy series' such as 'Dark Angel', 'Star Trek:Enterprise', 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Smallville' and is currentley on the U.S version of 'Being Human'.

Anyway, good review. The Jasmine arc is a bit hit and miss and I cannot see her as the thing that possessed Cordelia as they are totally different......even though she was. "BtVS" had Glory and "Angel" has Jasmine.

Funny to see Mal and Zoe off cancelled "Firefly" playing the villains for the final 4-5 episodes.

"Calvary" | View Comments20 | nathan.taurusAug 27, 2011
Another tid-bit to make the whole Angel/Angelus thing even murkier.

Connor: "Why doesn't Angel remember?"
Fred: "Because his mind wasn't here when the spell or whatever was cast, right?"

I had suspected, because of 'Eternity' that Angelus is always inside Angel and he doesn't have to lose his soul for him to emerge. But this would mean Angelus would not remember also because he was in Angel. Although, Fred does ask not tell.

Angelus: "-Now there's a girl who takes advantage of her opportunities.-"

"The Magic Bullet" | View Comments21 | nathan.taurusAug 24, 2011
I also rated the episode slightly higher.
Pros:
-"Wouldn't It Be Nice"
-It was good to see Fred all alone.
-The bookstore guy.
-Watching everyone get changed by the blood.

Cons:
-The scene of people singing and telling love stories about Jasmine. It was excrutiating.
-How Cordy's blood changed them without having to see Jasmine.
-The writers keeping with the government line about having one shooter and it being Lee Harvey. Well Jasmine was evil so of course she would lie.

"Smile Time" | View Comments22 | nathan.taurusAug 19, 2011
The Good:
-The sign on the door for the Nest Egg. "DON'T"
-Everyone's introduction to puppet Angel, especially Spike and Fred.
-Puppet Angel does not have puppet cancer. First time I have ever heard of such a disease.
-The 'Self Esteem' song is so catchy and one of the best kids songs ever. It has real meaning.
-The evil red headed puppet with Dora the Explorer sidekick....I'm kidding.
-The closest to nudity the series has come.

The Bad:
-The pedophilic intro. How did nobody catch it during filming or editing?
-Whedon's way of destroying happiness even before a date happens. Damn you.

The cast/crew found out the series was cancelled during filming of 'Underneath', so the happenings here are just bad writing/plotting. Good job writing Iguana!

"Lineage" | View Comments23 | nathan.taurusAug 18, 2011
The Good:
-Getting to meet Roger, even if he is not the real one.
-Wesley still trying to please his father.
-Wesley saying how he beat out 'everyone dying in an explosion' as biggest failure.
-Wesley just pumping the fatherbot full of bullets with no expression.
-Angel and Wesley speaking after.
The Bad:
-Are the robots people or robots or half-half.
-Not having Wesley actually kill his father.

Notice that Wesley is not surprised when he sees his father turn a gun on him. He even agrees that his father would kill him over Angel. What screwed up relationship would have a son believe his dad pulled a gun on him.

Wesley:"No. The perception is I'm weak. That's why that went for me."
Angel:"They're wrong. You do what you have to do to protect the people around you. You do what you know is right, regardless of the cost. You know I never really understood that. You're the guy that makes all the hard decisions even if you have to make them alone."

"Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco" | View Comments24 | nathan.taurusAug 18, 2011
Not a strong episode for the fairly strong fifth season. Still has some nice moments though.

The thought of Numero Cinco wearing his mask day in day out for over fifty years is absurd. So is the fact that the guy was in his twenties at least and should now be in his seventies, yet did not look it at all.
Angels heart jokes were funny.

"Unleashed" | View Comments25 | nathan.taurusAug 6, 2011
The Good:
-The actress that plays Nina is attractive. It is a pro for me.
-Fred taking out a couple of kidnappers with the tranquiliser gun.
-As John mentioned, the callback to 'The Initiative'.
-The exclusive dinner party. Why eat Nina as a werewolve when they could eat...I won't finish it.

The Bad:
-All dead werewolves should stay hairy until the morning then revert, no matter the species.
-Female werewolves should have a slightly different colour to tell gender, like Veruca.

Good job Iguana.

"Salvage" | View Comments26 | nathan.taurusJul 29, 2011
Mistake Alert: I watched the scene again and replayed part of The Beast's speech again and again and realised he says "your orders" not "her orders". It's the accent that got me and he says it soft. Void the above comment: )

"Disharmony" | View Comments27 | nathan.taurusJul 23, 2011
The Good:
-Cordelia mistaking Harmony for a lesbian. 'Showtime Network' would have done a love scene here.
-Harmony always managing to anger Wesley.
-Boss Wesley, "Kill 'em all!"
The Bad:
-Harmony. She can be fun, but if she wasn't turned it would have been better.
-Cordelia not killing Harmony. Now she can kill people still. Or try to, anyway.

"I've Got You Under My Skin" | View Comments28 | nathan.taurusJul 23, 2011
J - Of course I'm joking about the mum being 'evil'. She wonders why the boy is against the sister when she gives the daughter more. 16 marshmallows. On second thought, blaming the Nestle bunny for her favouritism is evil. Poor bunny getting the blame. All Angelus' crimes were the fault of the Nestle bunny also. Now Angelus bunny is in my head, causing havoc in Europe.

"Habeas Corpses" | View Comments29 | nathan.taurusJul 23, 2011
The Good:
-The Beast killing everyone in Wolfram & Hart. Too bad Linwood was already dead.
-Gavin finally got a good character interaction.
-Wesley and his hand grenade.
-How the employees contract goes into death. Not sure how zombies would help productivity.
-The Beast looking so imposing over the gang.

The Bad:
-Angel's 'holier-than-thou' attitude to Cordelia. Ego alert! Ego alert!
-The Cordelia/Jasmine scenes still not making sense, even in re-watch.

"Salvage" | View Comments30 | nathan.taurusJul 20, 2011
I forgot to add.
The Beast calls his master "she". Then Angelus calls his master "he". I cannot understand how Angelus missed the mark and misheard The Beast. It was probably because the writers didn't want the gang to narrow the field by only looking for females and find Cordy sooner.

"Orpheus" | View Comments31 | nathan.taurusJul 20, 2011
The Good:
-Angelus won't do it again. He won't. "Dude, you just rescued a puppy!" Hilarious.
-Angel's love of Barry Manilow.
-The guy with the girl in the diner wipes his nose leaving the bathroom. Cocaine anyone.
-"Arf, arf, psycho." Angelus vs Angel.
-Willow and Wesley together. Trading tough-guy stories.
-The look Faith gives when Willow and Fred are talking shop at the end.
-Willow turns down Fred's non-existent flirting.
The Bad:
-Making Cordelia visually bad now we know she is. I liked the subtelty.

"Salvage" | View Comments32 | nathan.taurusJul 16, 2011
darkness: Faith said about how there was no sun in LA. Not sure how the sun can only be blocked out of one city?

The Good: Faith!
-Wesley not fighting the prison guards so he cannot get in trouble.
-Cordelia being pissed that Faith is helping.
-Lorne trying to bash in Connor's head. He did it to prove the spell worked, but part of him was just pissed off and wanted to lash out.
-Faith getting beat badly in a great fight scene.
-Angelus killing The Beast and looking happy until it brings back the sun.
-Faith pushing the chains at the window and Angelus' smile fades to shock.
The Bad:
-Cordelia kissing The Beast.
-Cordelia playing up the "I'm evil" characterisation now that the audience knows. Before there was no hints and now the camera pans on her face for her reaction. Crap.

Patrick: Good review. I believe the apocalypse and eternal night was so when Jasmine was born the world would be better and people would see her as the saviour of mankind. People see the apocalypse and weeks later perfection so they see Jasmine as God, or a Goddess. She didn't need Angelus. He was a decoy so the gang would be occupied and not notice Cordy until it was too late.

"Calvary" | View Comments33 | nathan.taurusJul 16, 2011
I really like Angelus and how he talks to Cordelia. The look he gives her after she fires the arrow at him made me smile.

The reveal of Cordelia being bad was surprising and shocking, unfortunately, there was no little points previous where we could add it together and understand her actions. It just came out of the blue.

I'm not sure how her visions work. Are the PTB giving her the visions or Jasmine? In 'Long Day's Journey' she was only given snippets of a scene which would point to The Powers That Be as Jasmine would give her the complete scene in one go. Confusing.

"Untouched" | View Comments34 | nathan.taurusFeb 9, 2011
The girl in the flashback was just another victim of Angelus and Darla. She was not in the same position as the gypsy girl had been and Angelus wasn't blindfolded so it's not a problem with continuity.

I am of two minds about the ending with the father. The least she could have done was drop him from twice the height or more so he breaks his arms and knees.

Great: Angel pretending to be a detective. Even the coffee bit was great.

"Lonely Hearts" | View Comments35 | nathan.taurusJan 16, 2011
Pretty good episode. One of the best of Season 1.

I think they nailed the desperate, loneliness, strangness of trying to find a connection. Although, I've never been to a club as bright and noiseless as D'Oblique. Clubs are very loud and dark so people cannot talk. They are supposed to keep people apart.

The person I feel most sorry for in this episode is the bartender. He will be forever known as a serial killer and his family will be up sh** creek. Whoevers body was possessed last would always have that terrible honor.

Doyle:"Everyone just simmer down here, okay? Violence isn't going to solve a thing here.(punches the guy)On the other hand it is kind of festive."

"Sanctuary" | View Comments36 | nathan.taurusJan 12, 2011
Good:
-Wesley mad that Angel is treating Faith well.
-Faith admitting that Buffy tried to help her and she was the bad one.
-Buffy threatening to beat Faith to death.
-Buffy puching Angel and Angel returning serve. The shock looks.
-Buffy pushing aside the policemans arm trying to hold her back.
Bad:
-Why did Lee assume that Faith killed the demon. Angel was also there.
-The extremely bad shooting of the Watchers Council guys. 100 bullets. 0 hits.
-Buffy is really skinny when she takes off her coat.

Trivia: This episode ends the same as when Faith left Sunnydale in 'Who Are You?' Both end with Faith sitting in a small compartment.(train carriage, jail cell) The difference is in this episode Faith smiles at the end.

"Five by Five" | View Comments37 | nathan.taurusJan 12, 2011
solo: Perhaps if a person is out of their place for several days the magic vamp stopper wears off or maybe he's in a coma. Remember 'Firefly - Objects In Space' when the bounty hunter asks if the room is still someones if they're not in there.

Good:
-Angel straight away shooting at Faith and her response.
-I loved the absolute brutal smash and crash scene with Angel and Faith.

Bad:
-It took Faith half a dozen hits to knock the guy out. She is a Slayer.
-The nightclub puch-up scene was a bit poorly done for me.
-The cops never checked the beaten guys apartment even though his keys were stolen.

Good episode, however, I wouldn't rate it that high. High 80s.

"Eternity" | View Comments38 | nathan.taurusJan 12, 2011
gene: Angel was invited. Earlier Rebecca told Angel he could come over and watch the episode where she didn't win the Emmy. That's enough of an invite now for vampires.

Headline of one of the tabloid magazines "Doctors Baffled: Baby Born Pregnant" Hilarious.

Ah, Angel pretending to be Angelus. Always great fun to watch.

"The Ring" | View Comments39 | nathan.taurusJan 12, 2011
Good:
-Wesley being electrocuted.
-Darren shooting Jack without thought. Great brother.
-Angel fighting for the little red demons food.
-Wesley and "the man" scene.
-Angel thinking he could have won against the demon Trepko.
-The realisation they freed demons.
Bad:
-Not sure how the bracelet works. Angel grabbed Jack and was only slightly shocked.
-Wesley goes from tough guy to comedic guy just for laughs.

"The Prodigal" | View Comments40 | nathan.taurusJan 10, 2011
Good:
-Olden time Liam. Christina Hendricks as a bar maid (Saffron from 'Firefly')(Mad Men)
-Liam's father seems nice. Liam seems the dumb-arse.
-Angelus takes out his family and pauses at the recollection of his sister thinking he was an angel.
-Trevor asking if Angel's from 'West Hollywood'. With a name like Angel, good question.
-Darla telling him he hasn't won as his father can never approve of him.
Bad:
-When Kate kneels down to her father, he blinks......he is dead. Ah, zombie.
-Angelus and Darla breathing in the cold air.

Trivia: The bland tomestones have "Beloved Son" and "Beloved Father".

"Expecting" | View Comments41 | nathan.taurusJan 10, 2011
John: I think she means it's the first time she has invited a man inside her own place. She tells him this to show she is not easy. My guess, anyway.

Cordy didn't jump into sex and waited until the third date as was mentioned with the friend saying before the night, "3rd times the charm."

Trivia: Both Buffy and Cordelia were used by men through sex within 9 eps of each other.

"Somnambulist" | View Comments42 | nathan.taurusJan 10, 2011
I think Jeremy 'The Hurt Locker' Renner plays the best vampire assistant/old friend to Angelus of any of the put-into-the-time-line vampires.

JMK: Kate can get pretty boring. The actress is good, maybe it's the nasel voice.

"Hero" | View Comments43 | nathan.taurusJan 3, 2011
If you pause on the pure-demons faces it looks like they have human skin screwed on their face over their real skin. Creepy.

The last minutes were really sad, especially the finale where Cordelia and Angel are watching the tape of Doyles message.

Doyle:"--Is that it? Am I done?" Yes Doyle, you're done. RIP Glenn Quinn. 8 years gone.

"Sense and Sensitivity" | View Comments44 | nathan.taurusJan 2, 2011
John : I'm not sure it was a bedroom, but as Cordy said, the rules are getting messed up.

Good: Angel as Herb Saunders. Kate threatening to blow Cordy and Doyle "the hell away." The cop chastising Doyle about closing the station. "Painbow."

Bad: I liked Kate until this episode when she mocks the cop for no reason about incest. She is a cop not an 8 year-old. I really hated her then, no matter what she is going through she doesn't have to be a bitch.
-Tony shoots a cop and later Lee tells him he tried to kill a female police officer. What happened to the male cop he shot while getting the weapons?

Funny at the end, but a bit drawn out at the start. I agree with your score.

"In the Dark" | View Comments45 | nathan.taurusJan 1, 2011
Good:
-Oz. It's Oz. Oz. Cordelia being so excited to see him.
-Angel v. Spike. Spike had a carefully thought out plan, but got bored.
-Cordelia: "It smells like bong water in here."
-Angel v. Spike.
-The torture scenes.
-The sunset ending.
Bad:
-Angel would hear Spike mocking him with his vamp hearing.
-Angel never has scars from this or any other attack.

Trivia: This parallels Spikes first appearance on 'BtVS'. He fights with a block of wood, he is mentioned with the word 'railroad', he talks about having a plan but getting bored and he calls Angel his "sire".

"Supersymmetry" | View Comments46 | nathan.taurusAug 13, 2010
Great job Patrick.
The Good:
Fred still being cute.
Fred wanting revenge. "You know what they say about payback? Well, I'm the bitch!"
Angel not understanding how the demon is still alive without a head.
The Fred/Charles/Seidel scene.
Gunn snapping the professors neck. At least the 16th time someone broke a neck in the series.
Wesley. Just Wesley.

The Bad:
The text message portal?
Angel didn't tear Lilah's car in half, he only slightly ripped the roof.
A bit slow and not very compelling.
Cordelia and Connor.

Seidel: "Fred, I know you. You're not capable of hurting anyone."
Fred: "You don't know me! Not anymore! Five years of pain and suffering in a hell dimension will make a girl capable of alot of things-"

Fred: "Go away, Charles! You asked me not to kill him and I'm not...not exactly."
Gunn: "Sure you are. No way he could survive that. Don't let him do this to you."
Fred: "How dare you! You don't know! You don't know what it was like!"

Iguana-on-a-stick: (Nice name by the way) I like the way you have shown the similarities between the dialogue. I think Wesley Wyndam-Pryce was the character in the whole Buffyverse that changed the most.
In "BtVS" episode 'Bad Girls' he was a little geek who couldn't fight to save his life and changed a little for his debut on "Angel" and then from Season 3 onwards he became a no nonsence type of guy who could really hold his own.

The progress of his character was astounding in the transformation over those 5-6 years and you really wanted him on your side, look at 'Shells'.

"Season 3 Review" | View Comments48 | Nathan.TaurusMar 23, 2010
The Good: Fred in all her cute glory. Darla sacrificing herself for Connor. 'Lullaby'. 'Waiting in the Wings'. Wesley tormented. Wesley gets his throat slit. Connor and Angel fight on the beach.

The Bad: No Lindsey. Too much Darla. Justine. Sajahn touching everything. The middle episodes after Connors birth. Not much Gunn and Fred. The revenge group. Cordelias hair and much older appearance.

The Ugly: 'Dad'. Cordelia floating into the air.

I believe the Cordelia in the first episodes is her. On the Higher Plain was the real Cordy and now back again-no memory Cordy is still her. I don't think she becomes body jacked by Jasmine until the Beast awakens in 'Spin The Bottle' because Lorne attempts that memory spell.

The following are excerpts from "The Second Coming" by W.B.Yeats.

"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere the ceremony of innocence is drownded;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity."

"The darkness drops again; but now I know that twenty centuries of stony sleep,
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, and what rough beast,
It's hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born."

Things come to mind here for the season; not just the episode title. Anarchy loosed upon the world. Worst full of passionate intensity (Angelus). The darkness drops. Stony sleep (The Beast is stony). Rocking cradle (Connor). Rough beast (The Beast). And of course the being born part (Jasmine).

Maybe they did just get the season story from an old poem.

Not the best episode of the series, but still doesn't deserve a 40.
I watched it once with the commentary and heard about the long distance move between the escape and being at Fremont Street.

I didn't take much notice until I visited Las Vegas last September and stayed opposite the 'Tropicana' and on my last night I caught the bus down The Strip to see the Fremont Street Experience and realised just how far it is between them. So I laugh now when Lorne, Fred and Gunn run out of the Tropicana and end up time jumping down The Strip.

Notice so far this season that Fred calls Gunn, Charles. Angel so far has been the only person to call him, Gunn.

The demon, Dinza, was as creepy as the Gnarl demon on the episode of 'BtVS' that is close to concurrent with this one. (Same Time, Same Place) They even speak similar.

I would rate this episode in the early 80's. The Wesley/Angel scene was great and seeing how Wes just walks away after giving Angel the files.....getting back at Angel for all the times he just disappears while they are still talking.

"Deep Down" | View Comments52 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 6, 2010
And, forgot about Gunn trying to tell Fred that she can't say things like, "Word" and other words that are used mainly by black people. C'mon, it might sound funny but there are no off limit words for different races.

"Deep Down" | View Comments53 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 6, 2010
"I'll take away your bucket." I had to smile at this line.
I liked the family dynamic between Gunn, Fred and Connor in this episode. The way he still feels good when being told what to do by Gunn as it's a family unit, until he does the teenager thing and talks back.

The excited look on Connors face when he is given permission to go with Fred and Gunn to see the vampire. Just like a little kid.

Really good start to the season...too bad it pretty much goes to hell after a bit.

"Tomorrow" | View Comments54 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 5, 2010
Why Cordelia? No really, why? I liked her scenes with Skip up until she floated up into the sky, then she lost me. Even though Cordelia has grown so much in the past three years, I really don't buy that she would sacrifice herself in this way to be a Higher Power, no matter what she has been through. Realistically not many people would have the courage or, perhaps, stupidity, to agree to leave earth given the chance.

Saving grace: Fred and her interpretation of a vampire from 'Cats'. How adorable can she really be? Especially the secong growl.

"Benediction" | View Comments55 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 5, 2010
Holtz wanted to die this way to make sure that Stephen would love him forever as he knew he would have to leave town without facing his son and that could make Stephen come to hate him for it. (The reason on the DVD extras)

Congratulations to Gunn and Fred for introducing Connor to the ocean. There's a whole other world underneath and now he has an idea.

"The Price" | View Comments56 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 5, 2010
Correction: Connor punching his way out of his home sweet hell was what doomed the man.

"A New World" | View Comments57 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 4, 2010
The good: The teaser fight scene. Connor cutting off the guys ear. Lilah and Wesley. Connor wanting to kill the bad guys. Mistress Meerna.

The Bad: What is propelling the stakes from Connors wrist shooter. How does it hold more than there is space for. Groos fingures aren't closed around the CGI axe when he throws it.

"The Price" | View Comments58 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 4, 2010
No father or anyone can ever justify an act that puts others in danger for their own reasons. Angel is responsible for the mans death in this episode because he acted without thinking, no matter what he acted for.

Of course this isn't the first time. Remember the time he let Darla go after they had done the dirty and doomed countless lives in the process. From a story point he had to let her go, but from a moral point he should of staked her. (Cordelia and Harmony) Yet no one can say the name "Wesley" around Angel even after all the really terrible decisions he has made that have actually cost people their lives.

Cordelia - Why the new haircut and colour that makes her look alot older. She's supposed to be 21. And the powers? Unfortunatley she doesn't look good again or Cordelia like until, 'You're Welcome'.

"Forgiving" | View Comments59 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 4, 2010
Connor as a baby had to go. The series could not of had him throughout the rest of its run so Holtz taking him is in a way karma. Angel takes his child so Holtz takes Connor, only Connor survives where as Daniels baby did not.
Angelus' ghosts are coming back to bite him and Angel has to blame someone, so it falls on Wesley, the guy who is sure the end justifys the means.
Angel hates Wes more as he sees him as a traitor which is worse than Holtz out for revenge.

"You're a dead man, Pryce, dead!"

"Sleep Tight" | View Comments60 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 4, 2010
This is one of my favourite episodes of the season and there aren't too many of those this season.
The scene that really made it for me was when Wesley was trying to sooth Connor and he starts singing a lullaby and then realises and looks over at Lorne who just stares at him. Similar to the episode 'Lullaby' when Lorne realises what Holtz is about to do by singing a tune.
Justine (I really don't like her) slits Wesleys throat and c'mon, he doesn't want revenge!

CX: I can see some of the points you are making, but I'm pretty sure there are many, many other episodes this season and throughout the series that are worse than this.

"Loyalty" | View Comments61 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 4, 2010
Suzanne B: It is funny that in a way Sahjahn sped up his own demise by unwittingly allowing the escape of Connor.
I found the big burger talk to be good and the final scene also, but I just couldn't find much usefullness in the vampire hunters. What was Justine before her sister was murdered as she is a pretty good fighter and she must of known some tricks before Holtz trained her a bit.

"Couplet" | View Comments62 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 4, 2010
Poor, poor Groo. Doesn't even know what Cordelia thinks of him. (The hair cutting scene)
The brothel scene and the guy chained to the wall. "Don't judge me."
And notice how the camera pans from one of the red Wolf, Ram and Hart books that the gang got from Pylea (The Wolf) in the book place.

"Waiting in the Wings" | View Comments63 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 2, 2010
I liked the look Fred gave Gunn when he was talking about watching tutus and guys big packages jumping around, her smile to him was funny to me.

Wesley's comment to Cordelia about her snoring. It didn't really come back to bite him - unless you count the outcome of Lilah, but that wasn't Cordy.

Liked the deleted scene with Amy Acker dancing around (she is really good) and Wesley trying to dance.

Connor yawns and Angel and Cordelia lay with Connor talking about chipmuncks ice skating - The only good in this episode.
It was funny that the demons didn't know english and yet could understand most of what Fred was saying. Good makeup for the faces, except the main one.

Also I have to disagree. Even the worst episodes of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' were still usually a fair bit better than the worst episodes of 'Angel'.

I wouldn't rate any episode of 'BtVS' or 'Angel' under 50.

If the 'Cordy' show was real you can bet the networks would keep it going for many years after it died and cancel good shows that actually contain a plot, just like real life.

I did like this episode and it's something to note that if Angel had not of purchased the Hyperion Hotel it would of been re-modelled and re-opened soon after.
(The guy playing the front desk clerk was Max Baker. The bellhop in 'AYNoHYEB' was J.P.Manoux.)

Looking at Skip here I don't fully buy the revelation in Season 4 of his involvement with Cordelias possession. I kind of think it was just added on since Skip was a fan favourite as they wanted to shock the audience.

"Lullaby" | View Comments67 | Nathan.TaurusFeb 2, 2010
Lornes face as he unintentionally reads Holtz as he leaves singing was a good moment. He goes from pouring drinks and miming the words to scared realisation in a second. Gunn easily explaining that the force field can be loop-holed by being outside and chucking stuff in after Lorne failed to properly explain what happened.

You could see pain in Holtz's eyes when he threw his daughters body into the sunlight and it was more humane than letting her wait hours for the sunlight to reach her in the house. He didn't want to draw out his agony of watching his daughters face suffering in the corner.

"Offspring" | View Comments68 | Nathan.TaurusJan 31, 2010
Forgot: How did Darla kill those few people on the bus without the bus driver knowing until she got off? It's like the half a dozen dead people on the train that Drusilla killed in 'Crush'. Were they all sleeping? It just doesn't work.

"Offspring" | View Comments69 | Nathan.TaurusJan 31, 2010
Cordelia taking care of Darla and making her feel comfortable was more to do with the baby than Darla, her motherly instincts kicking in, but she did come off as way too out of character because she did still partly care for Darla aswell.

Darlas (My least liked vampire foursome member) outburst to Angel in the gamesroom was to similar to Faiths in 'Five By Five', although no where near as good.

The only thing to save this boring episode was Fred's "Inevitable" speech and Gunn trying to teach her the history when Darla arrives. Still agree with your score.

"Billy" | View Comments70 | Nathan.TaurusJan 31, 2010
Lilah all bruised and battered was great to see as she is a mean bitch, yet somehow, Angel was a little sorry for her. She nearly had Cordelia killed, yet she's a woman so he feels sorry for her. Similar to the next episode with Cordelia and Darla - It makes no sense.

Not a lot to like. Freds horror movie fall and backwards crawl, Billys sexist remarks about wearing pants. (Reminds me of the press against female polititians who wear pants) Cordelia trying to help Lilah even though she put Cordy through much more pain and suffering.

The ending was good with Wesley really upset with what he had done to Fred.

"Fredless" | View Comments71 | Nathan.TaurusJan 31, 2010
Fred is again cute and adorable in this episode - like she could be any different.
Her parents are so nice and loving (the miss-direction did go on too long) and come to the same conclusion as Cordelia that Freds device makes toast.

Freds parents looking at Lorne as if he's homosexual and saying people like that don't last long down south, and his comment to Angel about him being okay even if he drinks those fruity beers.

I loved Fred and Angel in her room saying goodbye and especially loved her remark about her cool axe gadget and her parents shocked look at her. Unfortunatley the next few eps are not as good and no, I didn't much mind the cockroach demons. I was waiting for Gunn to step on one and say, "I'm sorry, was that your aunty." (Men In Black)

Angel wearing leather pants :) Yes, he doesn't try hard to dispell those rumours.
As a question, who would even think of doing what Marcus could do if you could once you got older? I would really have to think about it if I made it to old age.

"That Old Gang of Mine" | View Comments73 | Nathan.TaurusJan 30, 2010
This episode made me think a bit about Lorne. He has a no violence policy and the demons inside act civilized towards each other because they have to, but they clearly don't hate each other or want to kill each other.
Lorne allows vampires and other evil creatures to have fun inside his haven of peace, does that make him somewhat evil that he serves these beings knowing who they are and what they do?

We all assume that the demon who eats babies eats human babies, but that is never stated. What if he ate other babies of his own demon tribe (for lack of a better word)would that be the same as human babies? Even if they would be evil?

Fred singing :) She is so cute this season.

"That Vision Thing" | View Comments74 | Nathan.TaurusJan 30, 2010
While watching the series again I took more interest in the Skip vs Angel fight to see if I could see anything that would confirm what Skip tells him in Season 4.
Angel does knock him out fairly easy.

So many idle, pointless threats to Lilah about killing her and what does he do?

Great episode for Cordelia, especially with the husky voice when she has the boils and burns.

Fred: I've never understood that saying, 'Right as Rain'. How is rain right, or, or wrong for that matter? Okay, I suppose if there's a flood it's wrong, a-and speaking of floods, or maybe just being overwhelmed, what's it like to have a vision?
Cordelai: Wow! You know, next to you I'm downright linear.

"Heartthrob" | View Comments76 | Nathan.TaurusJan 30, 2010
Emily: I agree that Cordelia wasn't seeing the whole side to Angel's responses and of course he could never get over it if his one true love died. Even though we know how it ends.

I didn't like the injection of James and Elizabeth into the story, only because they were with Angelus and Darla only 14 years after Liam was sired and remained 'alive' for so long together, even though Angel is said to be cunning and lucky to survive for 250 years as a vampire. Remember the guy in 'The Trial', sired in '92.......1992.
If they had of been around in the 1870's I wouldn't have minded as much.

Also, James is distressed about his lover, Elizabeth dying. The name Buffy is dirived from Elizabeth.

Fred, or, Winifred is so adorable throughout, but especially here. Her surprised look at the revelation of Cordelia being made a Princess was priceless.
Also, Joss doing his dances and David smiling at him, probably trying not to laugh.

Angel miming, "Mum" when Lorne introduces his mother.

I really liked the scene where Fred lures Angel away from Wes and Gunn with the haunting music playing and the look in Fred's eyes.

The best episode of the Pylean arc

Firstly, AJD: Yes!
Secondly: Angel hunts for the Drachen saying, "Here kitty, kitty." This is the exact same thing that Spike said when he was hunting Buffy in the school in 'School Hard'.
Lastly: The Drachen looked alot like the demon Jonathan brought forth when he did the spell in 'Superstar', with the long club like arms and hunched back.

Oh, yes, and Cordelia in the bikini.................what more to say.

Lindsey leaves and Lilah stays. I still like Lindsey more, though.
All Lindseys interactions with Angel from the "You're chokin' my lead." to his final goodbye to Angel were great. My favourite part was the meeting scene with Lindsey going nuts and shooting the guard, rubbing Charlie's hair and pinching Lilah's arse.

"Charrrlie!"

"The Thin Dead Line" | View Comments80 | Nathan.TaurusJan 25, 2010
An episode that made me think about gang violence and how people who try to protect and serve are slain for doing their job. If the cops had of just gone after the dealers and gangs with that sort of violence I don't think anyone would care.

Here we have another funny Gunn line but, still racist. "We'll be the ones walking while black." I know some cops are racist, although so is the dealer, Jackson.

Why didn't Angel beat the police captain to a bloody pulp? (Maybe off screen) He shot Angel thinking he was human so deserves justice. Also for the poor medic who died.

"Happy Anniversary" | View Comments81 | Nathan.TaurusJan 25, 2010
Lorne getting Angel to verbalise his reasoning to his actions was the only bright spark in this absolutely boring episode.

Why would the doomsday demons be in the library to overhear Angel?
How would they know exactly which street Angel was driving to Genes on?
Why wouldn't Angel just keep driving?
Story by Joss Whedon and David Greenwalt? Why?
Why did you give it an 80?

I get the similarities between Angel and Gene but, seriously, why?

"Hero" | View Comments82 | Nathan.TaurusJan 24, 2010
Doyle dies in an absolutely heroic death sequence in an unremarkable episode that is pulled way up because of his death.

The nazi theme I didn't get while watching it, only the demons calling themselves "pure blood" got me and what happened to all the demons once Doyle died?

They cannot be hurt by the machine so wouldn't they have stayed to watch and then fought to wipe them all out once their plan was stopped?

"Blood Money" | View Comments83 | Nathan.TaurusJan 24, 2010
The tape of Cordelia showing her acting muscles, or attempting to and Wesley stripping while dancing was a good part, along with Boone and his honor of needing to find out who really was better.

Lilah scared again when Nathan says he doesn't mind if Angel kills them and Lindsey again the strong one asking why they cannot have Angel killed.

Anne (Buffy's middle name)non-fussed about washing the blood off the money. She really should of been in the show more.

"Eternity" | View Comments84 | Nathan.TaurusJan 23, 2010
For some reason I thought about it again and my thinking is this: Angel had his soul returned to him in 1898 with an add on curse that stated if he had one true moment of happiness, it would be taken from him. When Willow returned his soul in 'Becoming Pt 2" she did not include any curse so how do we know that he still has the curse?

It has been implied in both series' that he cannot have true happiness and the 'happiness pill' was just chemical suggestion as Wesley said. Perhaps it was a strong enough chemical that Angel believed it enough to relax and the demon Angelus took over his body for that short time without losing his soul. If you look at this episode that way it makes a little bit more sense.

But wouldn't it be funny if Angel didn't have a curse on his soul anymore after having it returned twice (season 2 BtVS, season 4 AtS) without such add ons.

The Dark Avenger is finally here and killing things again.
The dejected group drinking their pain away then blaming each other then singing 'Queen'. Cordelia smiling at Gunn after mocking him and his axe. Saying, "Earth to retards". Calling Wesley an "Ass-pansy".

Drusilla again making the episode greater to watch. She really is one of the greatest characters in the Buffyverse. Angel setting Dru and Darla on fire...funny how you can sort of feel sorry for mass murderers, isn't it?

"Reunion" | View Comments86 | Nathan.TaurusJan 23, 2010
First off, how pretty did Drusilla look in this episode? Also Darla had a glow about her aswell.
Drusilla telling Lindsey that Darla is dead! All giddy about being a mummy and then sad that she doesn't need anything from Holland.
Angel and his magic invisibile clothing in the mirror. Drusilla "ringing".

The wine cellar: Holland pissing himself when Angel returns his "I just can't seem to care" sentiment. Lindsey with a small smirk, perhaps realising the firms mission was a success and Lilah scared.

Fantastic episode and I would say the best of Season 2.

Darla: "Into an empty pool?"
Angel: "Sure! 'cause if you had water you'd get all wet and miss out on all the skull crushing."

Julie has a good voice but I don't think Darla would try to sing as good as she did.

Lindsey telling Angel that Darla could be helped today, but that they are only one month and 400 years too late.

And in the final human moments of Darla, I actually finally like her.

"The Shroud of Rahmon" | View Comments88 | Nathan.TaurusJan 22, 2010
Finally Angel does something to Kate to get her head out of her arse.
David did this part really well, I agree, with his funny line about bothering people who are trying to steal things and his giddy star-struck act in front of Jay-Don.

"Darla" | View Comments89 | Nathan.TaurusJan 22, 2010
As the other side to the couples story with Angel/us and Darla it was good and we got to see her past and still annoyingly not find out her real name. It still wasn't as good as 'Fool for Love' in my opinion.

I liked the Master and his sit and wait plan and finding out Darla was with both him and Angel for around the same time. Darla/Master 1609-1760. Darla/Angelus 1753-1900.
She was with the Master for 149 years and Angelus for 147 years then rejoined the Master later on before being killed.

The unfortunate things about these episodes of vampire Darla are the differences in her character from 'Welcome to the Hellmouth - Angel' and the visions of her past in this series. As 'BtVS' was the beginning of the character, Julie was not able to play alot of backstory to make the character fleshed out yet.

"Dear Boy" | View Comments90 | Nathan.TaurusJan 21, 2010
I'm still not so sure if I agree with bringing Darla back from the dead, although she does okay in the season, I always found Drusilla to be a far better character. I'm not saying Dru should of been in the Darla part, just that Darla can be a little boring.

Seeing the moments before Drusilla was sired was telling of how evil Angelus and Darla really are and it was good to see Dru crazy ranting again - or for the first time in canon.

Cordelia was really hot in this episode also, especially in that yellow outfit........and some other stuff happened. I'm trying to think around that image but my minds a blank.
Good episode.

The Bellhop, Frankie, being executed for the suicide of the salesman was funny to hear and after seeing his reaction to Angel being lynched was probably proof enough to the police of what kind of a person he really is to convict him on a murder. But what about the hotel manager?

That was a lot of luck for the bag of cash to remain unfound for almost 50 years considering people tagging the walls nearby. Also, how was Judy never found and how did she survive for such a long time with such a neat room for all those years?

One of my favourites for the second season.

Good episode but not deserving of 100 in my opinion. Just like "City of", it has great moments but just doesn't get any higher than the early 90's from me. I enjoyed earlier episodes more than this.

Highlights were the explosion at the office. Angel walking between his friends hospital rooms and Lindsey getting his arm sliced off by Angel.

One of the best episodes of Season 1. Lindsey trying to be good for the children, although if they were adults would he have tried to change? Not so sure.

Gunn ranting about the alleged assault was really funny, but a little stereotypical and racist. Why does Gunn always use skin colour for why things happen? White folks are racist and black folk get no justice. Lucky they make him more realistic in Season 5.

Lee Mercer getting shot and Holland and Lindseys conversation as well as the ending were the highlights for me.

Buffy was not selfish in wanting revenge on someone who held her friend hostage, tried to kill Xander, tried to kill her numerous times, worked for evil, punched and held her mother hostage, beat her up when she was in Faiths body and slept with her boyfriend. Oh yeah, nothing to want revenge over, she must of been selfish and arrogant.

Anyway, great to see Faith trying for redemption and finally trying to apologise to Buffy.
I love the response Buffy gives, "If you apologise to me, I will beat you to death." And Faith actually a little scared of her.

Great moment when Angel tells Buffy that he cannot move on like she has and to go away.

Angel/Angelus: In the 'BtVS' episode, 'Lie to Me', Buffy tells Ford that turning into a vampire means that a demon 'sets up shop in your old house' and it walks and talks and remembers your life, but it isn't you. Which would mean that Angelus is a completely different demon that inhabits Angels body all the time and it is this demon that comes out to control the body when he is Angelus.

It has also been said on this post in 'BtVS' episode, 'The Dark Age' that Angel's demon (Angelus) won the fight againt the one inside Jenny.

But thinking of this, how would Angel or Liam remember what the demon did for that 145 years if Liams soul was gone and the demon was controlling the body?

Anyway it was great to see Angelus back and mocking Cordelia. "J-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-LINE!"

Great ending with the child being evil, not because he was possessed, but because he is just evil. Notice that it was mentioned that he hurt animals - the breeding ground for most serial killers and sociopaths.

Also, what an evil mum. Having 16 marshmallows and instead of dividing them equally, she plays favourites with the daughter by giving her more and then blames the Nestle mascot for it. No wonder he goes after his sister first.

The only thing I didn't like with this episode was Cordelia's out of character, stupid just-added-for-laughs comment about the stake. There is no way in the given circumstances that she would mistake what Angel is really asking for. I can understand 1775 Buffy not understanding in 'Halloween', but not Cordelia now.

Anyway I like the episode greatly and found Penn a better past friend of Angelus than the vampire couple in the season 3 opener.
Penn wears glasses to read which is strange for a thing with good eyesight.

Kate finally finding out what Angel is and his past deeds.
One of my favourites for season 1.

Wesley and Cordelia kiss again and Wesley thinks it went better than last time. It did. Wesley yelling at Barney about thrashing him to an inch of his life and then taking that inch was so, so funny to me. Just seeing his red face in anger, the most anger we have ever seen from him yet, was so great.

I also like Barney revealing to Cordelia that Doyle trusted her that much that he gave her the most valuable thing he had.....although I see it as finally kissing her because he knows he is going to die and doesn't realise what will happen. I don't think that the PTB gave him the visions by kissing him.

I agree that this episode doesn't deserve a 100 score as it just isn't as good as it could of been with some of the Buffy/Angel sewer conversation and the demon. It is an episode rated in the early 90's for me. 'Becoming Part 2' is my favourite episode of 'BtVS' and I rate it around 98.

The ending really makes the episode for me, as does David whispering, "Sarah, please", when he is trying to comfort her. And I think that Angel leaving Buffy asleep was completely in character and sweet.

How did Angel get peanut butter on his bet sheets in 'Rm wa Vu'? I had initially thought that the bed scene in this episode must of been shot before the aforementioned episode to explain it, but I would say Cordy may of done it.

Good episode, but when I watch it I think how much better it could of been.

This episode aired in September while I was in LA on a holiday in the USA so I watched the end again. (I have seen it before)I was really excited to be watching it in the city it was shot.

Anyway, I noticed the scene where Doyle asks the cop for help and the cop closes the blinds on him, which subsequently fall down, notice how Glenn looks directly at the camera. It looks to me like a goof that they kept in the episode.

Lee Mercer and his record keeping. Great lawyer.

They're detached hands so there is no body to swing at, but there still needs to be arms attached to give them more strength.

Strange to see D'Hoffryn playing a surgeon. Stick with the demons...not the human demons.

"I'm not a snivelling, whiny little cry-Buffy". Easily one of the funniest lines in the Buffyverse for me. I liked Maude unintentionally reminding Cordelia that she is a bitch, saying it in a derogatory manner but Cordy taking it as her past strength.

Cordelia was possessed by Dennis I would assume when she smashed the wall in as her eyes were glazed over.

Not the best episode, but by far not the worst.
