"Habeas Corpses" | View Comments1 | G1000Jul 3, 2011
Excuse me... it's a not-very-good blur "to me". Forgot that part. I know there are plenty of people who think it's great.

Nice work (as always). As usual, though, I don't have much to say about the episode since "Angel" S4 is basically a blur (and a not-very-good one) outside of the Angelus episodes and the pair of great episodes that bookend the season. So I too am very much looking forward to your "Home" review, as it's one of my favorite eps of the series.

"Calvary" | View Comments3 | G1000May 15, 2011
Wow. I don't even remember most of this episode. All I remember is that the Angelus arc is one of the high points of an otherwise awful season, along with the fantastic opening episode and the season finale. So I'm betting I liked it. And while I agree that Angelus here has nothing on Angelus in "Buffy", I still loved this storyline just because of how good David Boreanaz is at playing Angelus.

Still, Faith's return is when things really start to pick up.

"Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco" | View Comments4 | G1000Apr 26, 2011
Nice review. B- sounds about right for this episode.

"Spin The Bottle" | View Comments5 | G1000Mar 29, 2011
Great review, by the way.

"Spin The Bottle" | View Comments6 | G1000Mar 28, 2011
This episode's always struck me as a bit overrated, simply because it really is "Tabula Rasa": The Sequel. It's good, fun stuff. But nothing special. Though I'll admit it's one of the better season 4 episodes.

"Smile Time" | View Comments7 | G1000Mar 26, 2011
Great review, as always. This is, in my opinion, the single funniest Whedonverse episode (although "Buffy's" "Something Blue" is a close second).

"Unleashed" | View Comments8 | G1000Dec 1, 2010
Wow. Exact same grade I'd give this one: decent, but nothing particularly special. Thankfully, season 5 didn't have any bad episodes.

"The Magic Bullet" | View Comments9 | G1000Sep 28, 2010
Good review. None of the Jasmine episodes are individually that terrible, but as I whole I find the whole arc so boring. There's just not much there.

"Orpheus" | View Comments10 | G1000Sep 22, 2010
An A-minus sounds just about right. Most of the episode was great, but the Evil Cordelia stuff holds it back from anything higher than that. As far as the Angelus arc goes, I like "Salvage" just a bit more. Still, a bright spot in a dismal season (the last one until "Home", as things get bad really quickly from here on out).

"The House Always Wins" | View Comments11 | G1000Sep 7, 2010
This is, for me, the only "Angel" episode that sinks to the level of "Buffy's" worst. It's just boring, stupid, and pointless. Nothing happens, and even the brief Wes-Lilah stuff is dull.

"Lineage" | View Comments12 | G1000Sep 6, 2010
Rick, how is "A Hole in the World" tough to analyze? Fred gets infected. She dies. It's a great episode, but much like "The Body" there's not much more to it than that.

"Shells", on the other hand... that one could be challenging.

"Deep Down" | View Comments13 | G1000Aug 29, 2010
Great, great episode. My favorite part had to be Lilah cutting off Linwood's head. I did not see that coming.

"Benediction" | View Comments14 | G1000Aug 28, 2010
Loved this episode, though not as much as "Sleep Tight" or "Lullaby". I don't see Holtz as evil, frankly. He is what Angel made him, which makes him even more interesting and chilling as a "villain".

"Carpe Noctem" | View Comments15 | G1000Aug 25, 2010
This episode is hilarious. Not as good as the last two, but way better than a C. B/B+ range in my opinion. The Angel/Wesley scene alone makes this a worthwhile episode in my book.

Interesting article.

"Sanctuary" | View Comments17 | G1000Aug 18, 2010
This and "Five by Five" were both amazing. By the way, both deserved *s way more than "City Of" or "Somnambulist".

"Hero" | View Comments18 | G1000Aug 16, 2010
Also, Angel calling one of the demons "football head" is just hilarious.

"Hero" | View Comments19 | G1000Aug 16, 2010
Just watched this one for the first time, and I really don't understand why it doesn't get an A or a star thingy (which apparently has replaced the P).

Who cares if the Scourge people were unoriginal and lame? So was the Judge in "Innocence". This episode packs such a wallop, and I think Doyle's death was just amazingly well-done (in contast to a few of the deaths in "Buffy", which were powerful but felt a bit random). Great, great episode. After a slow start, I think I'm hooked on this show.

I personally didn't care for this one. The ghost woman was just obnoxious, and the entire last section was just a poorly done "haunting" scene (plus the whole demon thing). Not terrible, but not very good.

"City of" | View Comments21 | G1000Jun 8, 2010
There's no way this episode deserves a P. Russell was a lousy villain, and the plot involving him was too simplistic. What I did love was how this episode set an immediate tone for the series as a whole (one that's clearly going to be a lot darker than "Buffy").

B-plus. No higher than that in my book. But a good episode.
