I don't even remember most of this episode. All I remember is that the Angelus arc is one of the high points of an otherwise awful season, along with the fantastic opening episode and the season finale. So I'm betting I liked it. And while I agree that Angelus here has nothing on Angelus in "Buffy", I still loved this storyline just because of how good David Boreanaz is at playing Angelus. Who cares if the Scourge people were unoriginal and lame? So was the Judge in "Innocence". This episode packs such a wallop, and I think Doyle's death was just amazingly well-done (in contast to a few of the deaths in "Buffy", which were powerful but felt a bit random). What I did love was how this episode set an immediate tone for the series as a whole (one that's clearly going to be a lot darker than "Buffy"). B-plus. No higher than that in my book. But a good episode. |
